§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsIn 1966–67 there were 384,323 full-time and sandwich and 803,803 part-time (excluding evening) home students in the universities and grant-aided further education establishments in the United Kingdom. The number of full-time students who received awards from public authorities and Research Councils was approximately 265,000. The number of awards to part-time students is not known.
