asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many full-time and part-time students, respectively, are in United Kingdom universities and technical colleges; and how many are in receipt of Government or local authority grants.

In 1966–67 there were 384,323 full-time and sandwich and 803,803 part-time (excluding evening) home students in the universities and grant-aided further education establishments in the United Kingdom. The number of full-time students who received awards from public authorities and Research Councils was approximately 265,000. The number of awards to part-time students is not known.
