asked Her Majesty's Government:

The number of convictions under Section 2 of the Homicide Act 1957 in each year since the Act came into force; and the number of these cases in each year in which (a) sentences of imprisonment; (b) hospital orders; or (c) other sentences were imposed; and of the cases sentenced to imprisonment, how many have been subsequently transferred to hospitals under Section 72 of the Mental Health Act 1959.
