HC Deb 09 March 1967 vol 742 c335W
Mr. Pardoe

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what advice he has given to local education authorities about the need to consult parents on the reorganisation of secondary education; and how long a period he has specified should be allowed for public discussion before these proposals are sent to him for approval.

Mr. Crosland

In paragraph 42 of Circular 10/65 I advised that parents should be informed fully and authoritatively as soon as practicable in the planning stage. I have not specified any period that should be allowed for public discussion.
