§ Mr. Lubbockasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will seek to repeal Section 8(2) of the Public Libraries and Museums Act, 1964, which enables him to specify the amount that a person may be charged for notifying that person that a book or other article reserved by him has become available for borrowing or in respect of failure to return a book or other article before the end of the period for which it was lent.
§ Mr. CroslandI have noted this point for consideration, along with other local government controls, in the light of the Report of the Committee on the Management of Local Government.
