HC Deb 18 July 1963 vol 681 cc87-8W
Mr. Lubbock

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement on the recent meeting of the Economic Planning Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development which discussed the problem of the present strain on the dollar; and whether he will take a new initiative on the question of international liquidity.

Mr. Maudling

The Economic Policy Committee of the O.E.C.D., to which I assume the question refers, met last week to discuss recent developments and prospects in the economies of the member countries and in international payments. The meetings are confidential. As regards international liquidity we are continuing to play an active part in the international discussions to which I referred in my statement to the House on 30th May.
