§ 64. Mr. Pageasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will appoint a committee to investigate and report upon the operation of the rule that the Government of a Crown Colony, Protectorate or Trusteeship Territory should not take any part in party politics.
§ Mr. ProfumoNo. I regard it as important that the political impartiality of the public services in overseas territories should be beyond dispute. I have no evidence to suggest that local rules, which are based on local circumstances having regard to practice in this country, require investigation.
