§ 49. Mr. G. Brownasked the Minister of Supply whether a production order has now been placed for the P.1. aircraft; 136W and when he expects this aircraft to be in squadron service with the Royal Air Force.
§ 51. Mr. Stokesasked the Minister of Supply what orders have so far been placed for P.1. aircraft for use by the Naval Air Arm.
§ Mr. MaudlingA limited production order was placed in October and November, 1955, to cover jigging and tooling to meet the estimated requirements of the Royal Air Force and long-dated materials to cover the initial requirement. A further order will be placed as soon as this is desirable. I am not prepared at this stage to say when the aircraft will be in squadron service with the Royal Air Force. The Admiralty has no requirement for this aircraft.
