asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when the present British consular officers were appointed for Tamsui and Taipeh in Formosa; and from what Government exequaturs in respect of these officers were obtained.

Mr. Turton

Her Majesty's Consul and Her Majesty's Vice-Consul at Tamsui were appointed on 20th October, 1953, and 7th November, 1953, respectively. Neither officer's commission was presented for an exequatur. There is no officer holding a commission at Taipeh.
