§ 91. Mr. Deedesasked the Minister of Works if he will give the name of the firm entrusted with the contract for supplying radar equipment at the South Bank Exhibition.
§ 92. Mr. Deedesasked the Minister of Works if he will make a statement on the cancellation of the proposal to use a radar transmitter and receiver to obtain echoes from the moon on top of the tower at the South Bank Exhibition.
§ Mr. StokesThe contract for the supply of radio telescope equipment at the South Bank Exhibition is placed with Leland Instruments Ltd., electronic engineers and consultants. In the circumstances brought about by the defence programme it has 159W proved difficult to obtain early delivery of the parts of the equipment required for radar transmission and it has, therefore, been decided that the radio telescope should be used to receive signals from outer space but not to transmit them.
