HC Deb 01 December 1950 vol 481 c188W
Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Works how many of the park attendants in the Green Park and St. James's Park are full and part-time employees, respectively; and how far their conditions of employment permit day workers to take additional employment as night workers for other employers.

Mr. Stokes

There are 25 park-keepers in the Green Park and St. James's Park, all of whom are employed full-time. Permission to undertake work for other employers outside normal working hours may be granted, provided that my Department is satisfied that the outside occupation will not conflict with the interests of the Ministry, or be inconsistent with the officer's position as a public servant. No application for such permission has been made.
