Mr. Stokesasked the Minister of Town and Country Planning whether his attention has been called to the dumping on the foreshore at Watergate Bay, Cornwall, of a quantity of excavated material; what steps he proposes to take to stop this nuisance; and what action he intends to take against the contractors concerned.
§ Mr. KingMy right hon. Friend has brought this matter to the notice of the Cornwall County Council who are the local planning authority, and he understands that it will be considered at a meeting of the appropriate area planning committee this week. In the meantime the council have obtained an undertaking that no further tipping will take place on the beach.
