HC Deb 09 February 1949 vol 461 c55W
62. Mr. Gallacher

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he has considered the report of the meeting of the Joint East and Central African Board regarding the reduction in the number of African students coming to this country to study, sent to him by the hon. Member for West Fife, and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Rees-Williams

I consider that the views expressed in the report referred to by the hon. Member are based on incomplete information. I am not aware of any proposal to reduce numbers of African students who need to come to this country to obtain higher qualifications.
