§ 32. Sir P. Macdonaldasked the Secretary of State for War when it is proposed to derequisition the premises at Northwood Park and Albany Camp, Isle of Wight, formerly used as Army billets; and whether he will authorise the local authorities to take these premises over for housing purposes.
§ Mr. BellengerNorthwood Camp and Albany Barracks are both built on land owned by my Department. There is therefore no question of derequisitioning. Albany Barracks is in use and must be retained for military purposes. Northwood Camp is at present vacant and if the local authority will submit a proposal through the Ministry of Health it will be considered with other Government requirements should it be decided that this camp is not for the time being required for military use.
