§ Mr. Battleyasked the Secretary of State for War the number of acres of Clapham Common which are now held and being used by the services, and whether he will release this ground for the use of the public.
§ Mr. BellengerMy Department holds 19 acres of Clapham Common comprising an anti-aircraft gun position and hutted camp, which cannot at present be derequisitioned. The camp, with the exception of one hut used by a care and maintenance party in charge of the guns, is occupied by squatters and is tinder the170W control of the Ministry of Health for temporary civilian housing.
