HC Deb 04 February 1947 vol 432 c325W
Mr. Bowden

asked the Secretary of State for War when the St. John's School-rooms, Albion Street, Leicester, will be derequisitioned, in view of his statement in July, 1946, that the situation of Army records offices in that city was then under consideration.

Mr. Bellenger

I regret I am still unable to forecast a date when it will be possible to derequisition St. John's Schoolrooms. The move of this Records Office is complicated by the fact that it is almost entirely staffed by local civilians who would lose their employment if the Record Office moved from the district.
