HC Deb 28 October 1946 vol 428 c50W
Mr. Swingler

asked the Secretary of State for War what form of liaison with civil educational bodies is contemplated in the educational scheme for the peacetime Army.

Mr. Bellenger

Liaison is at present effected through the medium of Army Education Advisory Board which was set up early this year in order to keep under review the educational policy for the Army. This Board, which reports to me, includes representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Scottish Education Department and the Ministry of Labour and National Service as well as distinguished non-official educationists. The question of maintenance of close liaison with civilian educational bodies is very much in my mind and is at present also being examined by the Army Education Advisory Board.
