HC Deb 05 November 1946 vol 428 c227W
108. Mr. Osborne

asked the Secretary of State for War why the Rink, Louth, is still under requisition and used as a N.A.A.F.I. store, although its release was promised last January by his Department in the interests of agriculture.

Mr. Bellenger

The Rink, Louth, is still being fully used as part of the local Supply Depot, in connection with supplying the N.A.A.F.I. element of the ration to the large number of troops and prisoners of war in that area. As was promised last January, every effort has been made to find suitable alternative accommodation, but so far, without result. Alternative arrangements for issuing this N.A.A.F.I. element are being considered which avoid the use of local supply depots. If these can be put into effect, I hope, but cannot promise, to release the Rink by 31st December.
