HC Deb 04 December 1946 vol 431 c106W
123. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Secretary of State for War whether in view of the conditions prevailing in the British zone of Germany, he will cancel all such arrangements as have been made for sending British children there during their Christmas holidays.

Mr. Bellenger

No, Sir: these arrangements were made in order that children, forced to remain in this country, whose parents were now united in Germany, should be able to join them for the Christmas holidays. As their parents are already living in Germany I can see no serious objection to the children joining them.
