HC Deb 21 February 1945 vol 408 c812W
Mr. Kendall

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will consider granting the officers of the R.A.F.V.R. who are over 50 years of age and who will shortly be called upon to resign under the recent A.M.O., the same treatment as they would have had if they had been released under the Re-allocation of Manpower Scheme which would entitle them to medical and dental examination prior to leaving the Service and provision of civilian clothing.

Sir A. Sinclair

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on 14th February, to the hon. and gallant Member for Petersfield (Sir G. Jeffreys) and the hon. Member for Cheltenham (Mr. Lipson), of which I am sending him a copy. As regards medical and dental examination, there is no material difference between the procedure followed on relinquishment of a commission under the A.M.O. referred to and the procedure which will be followed under the Release Scheme. The question of provision of civilian clothing as at present under examination as a matter affecting all three Services.
