§ Mr. J. Dugdaleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what arrangements have been made under the Federation of British Industries scheme for bringing Chinese apprentices to this country?
§ Mr. EdenThe Federation of British Industries have secured facilities in British engineering firms for the training of 63 Chinese apprentices. Of these 30 students are already on their way to this country. The apprentices will be paid at the normal rates by the firms; and the Federation, with the help of a grant from the British Council, will provide whatever additional money is required to ensure the full maintenance of the apprentices while they are in this country.
