HC Deb 12 October 1943 vol 392 cc753-4W
Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that in the course of the recent Battle of Britain thanksgiving services, collections were taken in churches for its disabled heroes and their dependants, whilst displayed advertisements drew attention to the acute distress of these same people, officially estimated at some 25,000; and whether he proposes to remove this stigma by making adequate provision available to them from the Exchequer?

The Prime Minister

I have not seen the advertisements to which my hon. Friend refers and in this connection I would refer him to the answer which I have given to-day to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Kidderminster (Sir J. Wardlaw-Milne).
