HC Deb 05 August 1943 vol 391 cc2496-7W
Mr. Messer

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether inquiries have been made into the detailed allegations, sent to his Department on 12th May, that 753088, Leading-Aircraftman Barlow, L., was brutally assaulted and dressed in uniform by six non-commissioned officers on 30th March, 1943; whether this man is still in hospital and whether any disciplinary action has been taken?

Sir A. Sinclair

This case has been fully investigated by a court of inquiry. The court found that no more force than was necessary was used by the station police. In the circumstances, no disciplinary action is called for. The airman concerned has left hospital and is about to be granted leave, pending discharge from the Service.
