HC Deb 20 April 1943 vol 388 c1550W
Mr. John Beattie

asked the Prime Minister whether he will give the House an opportunity of discussing the Motion standing in the name of the hon. Member for West Belfast?

[That this House views with grave concern the situation in Northern Ireland where over twenty thousand workers are unemployed due to idle industries, which represents a glaring contradiction to the urgent need of this country and its Allies; and is of opinion that special steps should be taken to revive industry and ensure employment to all workers in Northern Ireland.]

The Prime Minister

Sir. The present state of public business affords no opportunity for discussion of the Motion standing in the name of my hon. Friend.
