§ Mr. HicksNo, Sir. The period of 12 months referred to is not reckoned from the 1st January, but from any date on which work is being carried out on the property. Defence Regulation 56A provides that work may not be carried out on a property without a licence if the cost of that work, together with cost of any other work carried out on the property within 12 months before that time, exceeds £100.
