HC Deb 30 July 1942 vol 382 c708W
Dr. Little

asked the Home Secretary whether, owing to serious complaints that children are engaged in the smuggling on the border between Northern Ireland and Eire, he will take all possible steps to protect young people from becoming involved in this traffic?

Mr. H. Morrison

The most important thing is to detect and bring to justice merchants who organise and profit by the illegal export of goods, but the authorities also recognise that appropriate measures must be taken for checking the activities of agents and minor offenders, including any use of children for the purpose of such illicit activities.
