HC Deb 21 January 1942 vol 377 cc363-4W
Dr. Little

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in order to ensure an adequate supply of milk, meat, bacon and eggs, and prevent a further decrease in the livestock of the country through lack of feeding-stuffs, he will assign at least one-third of the grain at present being supplied to the brewers to the farmers, cattle-raisers, pig-producers and fowl-keepers in the United Kingdom?

Major Lloyd George

No, Sir. It would not be in the national interests to reduce the production of beer as my hon. Friend suggests.
