GriggThe current rates of family allowances for Indians enlisting in this country whose families are resident in India were laid down in 1940 after full consideration of all the circumstances. In accordance with the normal practice, men who had enlisted before the introduction of these rates were allowed to continue to receive the benefit of the conditions under which they enlisted. It is not proposed to introduce a new scale.
