HC Deb 11 September 1941 vol 374 c317W
Rear-Admiral Beamish

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will approach the employers in shipbuilding and other large industries, now making use of labour which has been transferred from long distances, to initiate a uniformity agreement, such as exists between both sides of the building and civil engineering industries, enabling workers to obtain free fares for visits to their homes?

Mr. Bevin

I would point out to my hon. and gallant Friend that men employed in these industries are paid in accordance with the agreed settlements between the unions and the employers.
