HC Deb 02 April 1941 vol 370 c1021W
Lieut.-Colonel Macnamara

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that many persons and bodies, including regimental associations, have subscribed to relief work for British prisoners of war; whether the Red Cross have published a balance sheet showing how these funds have been used; and, if not, will he make arrangements for them to do so?

Captain Margesson

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes, Sir." As regards the second and third parts, I am informed that the accounts of the War Organisation of the British Red Cross Society and Order of St. John, which will show donations received for prisoners of war and expenditure under the appropriate headings, are at present being printed and will shortly be available.
