Mr. Mainwaring

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour the number of registered unemployed persons, male and female, respectively, on 31st July, 1939, and the latest available figures for May, 1940, at the following Employment Exchanges: Ferndale, Porth, Treorchy, and Tonypandy?

The table below shows the numbers of unemployed males and females, aged 14 years and over, on the registers of the Employment Exchanges in question at 14th August, 1939, and 15th April, 1940, the latest date for which figures are at present available. Figures are not available for 31st July, 1939.
