HC Deb 04 June 1940 vol 361 c783W
Mr. R. Gibson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that five Government Departments, including the War Department, have admitted the scientific value of an Army anthropometric survey, he will take such steps as are possible in the present circumstances to have such a survey made forthwith by ex-officer anthropologists and the anthropologists of the universities?

Mr. Eden

I regret that, in present circumstances, an Army anthropometric survey is not practicable.
