HL Deb 15 February 1940 vol 115 c556WA
LORD NOEL-BUXTON

asked His Majesty's Government if they will state the languages of the Balkan States in which broadcasts have been instituted by the British Broadcasting Company; whether in particular the broadcast has been instituted in the Bulgarian language; and if this is not the case, whether the reasons for omission are technical or otherwise.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT CALDECOTE)

Daily broadcasts are given by the B.B.C. in Bulgarian, Greek, Rumanian, Serbo-Croatian and Turkish. On account of technical limitations the Bulgarian service was only instituted at the beginning of this month.

House adjourned at a quarter before five o'clock.
