HC Deb 26 September 1939 vol 351 cc1227-8W
Mr. Kimball

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that a number of manufacturers have increased the price of their products by the whole of the 6 per cent, war risks insurance premium without regard to their turnover; and can he take steps to prevent the increase in price from exceeding that proportion of the insurance premium applicable to the particular article?

Mr. Stanley

With regard to the first part of the question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given on 21st September to the hon. Member for Lowestoft (Mr. Loftus). With regard to the second part, I can only refer to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Seaham (Mr. Shinwell) on 21st September about the action being taken and the legislative measures under consideration for preventing excessive price increases.
