Morris-Jonesasked the Financal Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware of the serious position of those engaged in the hotel industry in some of the reception areas owing to the requisitioning of their buildings by the Government, and that the basis of compensation announced will in some cases involve their financial ruin; and whether His Majesty's Government will review the whole position?
§ Captain CrookshankI am well aware of the inconvenience and embarrassment which has been caused by the unfortunate necessity of requisitioning hotels for Government purposes. I hope that it will be possible shortly to discuss the position with representatives of the industry.
