HC Deb 09 November 1939 vol 353 cc426-7W
Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Home Secretary whether he will state the number of Furber traction carriages in use for airraid precautions work?

Mr. Elliot

I have been asked to reply. The particular form of the Furber traction carriage which has been brought to my notice is a type of hand ambulance. It is not considered that apparatus of this kind is suitable for the air-raid precautions ambulance service, and so far as I am aware no such appliances have been acquired by local authorities, who are immediately responsible for this service.
