HC Deb 02 November 1939 vol 352 cc2119-20W
Mr. Windsor

asked the Minister of Health whether he has again considered the schemes of local authorities for provision of trailer-ambulances; and what financial assistance he is prepared to recommend towards the upkeep of such a service?

Mr. Elliot

I would refer to the reply which I gave on the 31st October to the hon. Member for Clackmannan and Eastern (Mr. Woodburn) as to the purchase of suitable vehicles for the emergency ambulance service. Approved expenditure in the acquisition of these vehicles, and maintenance charges in respect of them, will rank for grant under the Air-Raid Precautions Acts 1937.
