HC Deb 25 May 1939 vol 347 c2521W
Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Health whether he has considered the effect on the health of the public of the proposed repeal of the Medicine Stamp Duties; and what representations he has received on the subject?

Mr. Elliot

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given on 23rd May to my hon. Friend the Member for Abingdon (Sir R. Glyn), of which I am sending him a copy. As regards the second part, I have received representations against the proposed repeal from bodies representing retail chemists, and in favour of the repeal from an association representing the grocery, provision and allied trades in London and surrounding districts.
