HC Deb 11 May 1939 vol 347 c711W
Sir G. Fox

asked the Minister of Health whether he proposes to publish for general information, the number of persons who have been allocated to each receiving area; and, if so, when he proposes to do so?

Mr. Elliot

The local authorities have been notified of the Minister's decision as to the numbers of persons allocated to the district after consideration of the survey made under the evacuation scheme. As I am at present considering whether it is necessary to make any amendment in the details of the scheme in the light of representations received from local authorities I think it would be misleading to publish any general list of the allocations at the present time.

Mr. Liddall

asked the Minister of Health whether, in connection with the survey made by local authorities under the Government evacuation scheme, he has carried out his promise and sent instructions to local authorities as to how to keep the information in the register up to date?

Mr. Elliot

The question of keeping the survey of accommodation up to date is not being overlooked, but as it has only just been completed I do not think that a further communication is called for now. For the present local authorities will no doubt make such alterations as come to their notice in their own records, for use in the distribution of the priority classes' according to the numbers which have been notified to them.
