§ Mr. ElliotThe total amount of the health insurance contributions paid by employers and employed persons in Great Britain for the year ended 31st December, 1938, was approximately £29,859,000, and for that year the total amount of the expenditure on the several health insurance benefits was approximately £33,961,000. The total cost of administration (including the Central Departments' administration) was approximately £5,968,000.
