§ Mr. ElliotOn the 30th September, 1938, the approximate number of old age pensions in payment in Wales at the full rate was 143,500. A separate figure for Glamorganshire is not available as pension records are not kept on a territorial basis. On the 1st January, 1938, the number of old age pensioners in receipt of poor relief in Wales was 25,094 of whom 9,620 were in the administrative county of Glamorgan. I regret that the information asked for in the third part of the question is not available as the returns received in my Department do not distinguish the cost of poor relief to old age pensioners.
