HC Deb 09 November 1937 vol 328 c1623W
Colonel Wedgwood

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any inqury is being held into the conduct of the Arab police at the burning of the Lydda airport or at the loss of rifles, etc., at the police post between Hebron and Beersheba; and, if not, will lie satisfy himself that the affairs in question will be inquired into by Sir Charles Tegart?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

Inquiry has already been instituted. I am satisfied that the incidents in question were not due in any way to lack of loyalty on the part of the Arab police concerned. I see no reason to ask Sir Charles Tegart to inquire particularly into these events.
