HC Deb 02 November 1937 vol 328 c745W
Sir R. Keyes

asked the Minister of Health under what circumstances it is essential to a claim to a contributory pension at 65 years of age and continuance for life of national health insurance benefits otherwise than cash, that an insured voluntary contributor should stamp his contribution card in respect of any period subsequent to the 30th June immediately prior to his sixty-fifth birthday?

Sir K. Wood

The National Health Insurance and Contributory Pensions Acts contemplate in normal circumstances the cessation of weekly contributions from a voluntary contributor only on the attainment of the age of 65. My hon. and gallant Friend will appreciate that it is difficult to advise as to exceptions from this rule except on the facts of a particular case.
