§ Mr. ElliotI am informed that there are 129 maternity homes registered under the Midwives and Maternity Homes242W (Scotland) Act, 1927. I have no particulars at present as to the numbers and qualifications of the nursing staffs employed in them, but I am taking steps to obtain information from the local authorities by whom the homes are registered. These authorities have, of course, wide powers under the Act to secure an adequate standard of nursing.
