HC Deb 19 November 1936 vol 317 cc1927-8W
Captain PLUGGE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the proposal of the British Government for the maintenance of the status quo in regard to fortifications and naval bases in insular territories and possessions in the Pacific Ocean after the expiration of the Washington Naval Treaty, he can state the reply of the Governments concerned?

Viscount CRANBORNE

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which my right hon. Friend gave yesterday to a similar question asked by the hon. Member for Wolverhampton East (Mr. Mander), to which I have nothing to add.
