HC Deb 02 March 1936 vol 309 c1012W
Captain PLUGGE

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether any definite assistance is ever given to British manufacturers of broad casting apparatus to tender for contracts for establishing broadcasting installations abroad; and how many such foreign broadcasting stations have been equipped with British broadcasting plant?

Captain WALLACE

The Department of Overseas Trade has, on a number of occasions, rendered assistance to British manufacturers when tendering for con tracts for the installation of broadcasting apparatus in foreign countries. As far as my information extends, the number of foreign broadcasting stations which have been, or are being, equipped with British broadcasting plant is 112.
