§ Mr. KELLYasked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the danger of people engaged in the work of window-cleaning who, when travelling on motor and other cycles, carry ladders, buckets, and other material, which make it difficult for them to give the road signs indicating direction; and will he take steps to deal with this practice?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI am aware that the carrying of unsuitable articles on pedal cycles is an occasional cause of accidents and directions on the subject are included in paragraph 70 of The Highway Code, but I will further review the whole matter in the light of the more detailed investigation into the cause of road accidents which is now in progress.
