HC Deb 25 July 1935 vol 304 cc2024-6W
Sir E. GRAHAM-LITTLE

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether in view of the fact that rabbits have been exterminated on the estate known as the Towyn estate, near Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, by means other than the gin trap, he will make inquiries into the methods used on this estate with a view to the prohibition of the gin trap?

Mr. ELLIOT

If the hon. Member has in mind the use of cyanide fumigation, I would refer him to my reply on 25th June last to a question by my hon. and gallant Friend dm Member for Hitchin (Sir A. Wilson) in which I stated that, I had obtained a report on this method of extermination, as employed on another estate in Carmarthenshire. I am considering the method in relation to the question of the gin trap, but I am satisfied that further examination of the many factors involved in this problem is essential.
