HC Deb 18 May 1933 vol 278 cc536-7W
Lord E. PERCY

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of cases in which the Commissioners of Inland Revenue have required further particulars from the persons who have elected or have been deemed to have elected to comply with the requirements of sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1) of the Second Schedule to the Finance Act, 1931?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

No record has been kept of the number of cases falling within the sub-paragraph referred to, in which further particulars have been required by the Commissioners after presentation of the document. It is, however, clear that if there are any such cases, they can only be very few in number.

Lord E. PERCY

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how many transactions in land have been recorded by the Commissioners of Inland Revenue under Section 28 of the Finance Act, 1931; and, approximately, the number of cases in which the persons concerned have elected to comply with requirements of sub-paragraphs (a), (b), and (c), respectively, of paragraph 1 of the Second Schedule to the Act?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

The total number of transactions recorded under the Section referred to up to 30th April last is 651,836. The cases falling under paragraphs (a), (b), and (c), respectively, are 662,318, 76,757, and 12,761.
