HC Deb 19 November 1931 vol 259 c1041W
Mr. J. DUNCAN

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the fact that high rents are being charged by certain persons for decontrolled houses and flats and for furnished rooms, he will inquire into the possibility of doing something to secure a reduction of these rents, especially as many of the tenants are unemployed?

Sir H. YOUNG

As I have already stated in reply to other questions relating to the future of the Rent Restrictions Acts, and the possibility of amendments to those Acts, the Government will consider the matter in the light of the report of the Departmental Committee which was recently issued.
