§ Dr. ADDISONMy attention was drawn to this matter by Captain Richard Buxton, who presented me with a summary of the report of experiments carried out by M. Spahlinger on a farm in Norfolk. I have suggested to him that in the interest of all concerned there should be a complete test by and under the independent control of recognised authorities who are experienced in research in this disease. Research work is being actively carried on at the Research Institute of Animal Pathology, Cambridge, and at the Ministry's Veterinary Laboratory, Weybridge, with a view to devising an effective and cheap method of immunising cattle against tuberculosis. The Calmette and other methods are being studied. Future plans depend to622W a large extent upon the result of research work now in progress.
